COURSE OUTLINE This aim of this course is to increase the participant’s knowledge and awareness of Yorta Yorta culture. This awareness aims to assist you to support good working relationships with the Traditional Owners. This program has been developed in support of the principle that Traditional Owners should maintain control of their cultural heritage, and direct if and how this heritage is to be passed on and assessed. We will cover elements such as; cultural awareness, overview of Yorta Yorta people, Cultural Heritage, On Country visit, and other elements as deemed appropriate depending on the individual needs of participants and your organisation. Tailoring the training to the needs of your sector and employees is important. YYNAC includes any additional information in consultation with the organisation to ensure effective and relevant outcomes are achieved. Training costs are negotiated depending on client needs and duration of training. Training is delivered on site at Yenbena, the Yorta Yorta Training Centre located in Barmah, but can be delivered off-site on request. Training delivery can be negotiated to half day or extended day training. Full day training is strongly encouraged to ensure full comprehensive awareness and participation. If half day training is delivered participants will only receive a certificate stating they have completed half of their cultural insight training competency.
