Yeilima Farm
Yeilima Farm was purchased in 1999 by the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) on behalf of the Yorta Yorta people. The property is on Yorta Yorta traditional lands situated on the Murray River within Barmah State Forest and is approximately 259 hectares.
It had previously been owned by two traditional family groups who farmed it. Our people have a strong connection to this land and there are many significant cultural sites within the property itself.

During 2001-2002 a re-vegetation project took place at Yeilima where Yorta Yorta people planted up to 7000 trees and shrubs to encourage native wildlife to return to the area due to loss of habitat. Due to the significant drought only 500 plants survived.
YYNAC is currently carrying out a master planning process for Yeilima which will hopefully deliver sustainable benefits for both the Yorta Yorta people and the property itself.
